This company may be the best option for SVI. I don’t see the ability to take existing blogger content and move it, but SVI doesn’t need that. I do.This Blog will continue to be edited as I investigate these companies further.

What if you were so bored and had so little to do everyday that all you did was just post every little thing to your blog. Wait. That is what today is all about.

One and all, it might be a good idea to run over to FreeYourID.com and see if you can get your name. You can see how it works right quick using my name. Click on murray.williams.name and it will bring you right here to my new blog. Pretty cool huh?

I can go to my online id page and change where that address points to anytime in the future. That means as the Internet evolves and new sites come into vogue, that address will always point to me and whatever my online persona has morphed into. Pretty cool.

Obviously this is very early for this type of service, and FreeYourId.com may slip away into oblivion but at least right now it seems like a very interesting way for people to find you online.

Other Interesting Uses

One could use this address as a pointer to whatever is most interesting to him or her at the moment. For instance, what if you are way into some new web startup. You could change your alias to point to that company. Then, you could tell you readers to simply type in that address and see what the latest and greatest thing is.

I don’t know if this will catch on, but it is good to early on in the uptake.

You need to check out this site. It is a flash-based directory of web 2.0 start-ups. Now you may have no interest in Web 2.0. Heck, you may not even know what it is, but you will enjoy just playing with this site. The interface is way fun to play with and worth at least a look.

What up world. This is my first step away from the world of Blogger. I am sure there are a ton of WordPress old heads out there who would say, well it’s about time. But, I have been living in a world of Server 2003. The great thing was that I got free hosting. The bad thing was I was locked in to blog software that either was completely hosted (Blogger) or would play nice with all the other ASP neighbors (I couldn’t find one).

So, I was locked in the world of Blogger. Now don’t get me wrong. I like blogger, but my blog template was getting really tired, and I didn’t want to go through the hassle of having to do a redesign without giving WordPress a try.

That is why I am here today. I have been using Blogger for 3 or 4 years, and now. Maybe it is time for a change. We shall see.
