About

My Job:
My name is Murray Williams, and I work for a startup in Northwest Arkansas called SVI. SVI stands for Seasons Venture International, but we don’t really call it that anymore. I am the Director of Media and Communications, and it is my job to build the megaphones that will get our voices heard. Using WordPress is one of those tactics. We are also building a online training environment catering to some of the nations biggest corporations. It’s called www.genonow.com. You should check it out. I don’t believe there is anything quite like it anywhere on the net.

Blogging:
I have been a blogger for a very long time. (a Blogger user since 2002.) Now I have made the jump to WordPress. I started on the web back in 1998 with a conventional website. I then integrated a blog in 2002 but I held onto my more conventionaly website. As the Spring of 2007, I have gone completely blog. I have wanted to do this for a long time but I haven’t had the guts to just throw away the content I’ve built over the years. Now, it is done. Sometimes you just need to have a big garage sale, both in life and online. It’s out with the old, and in with the new!

Tastes:
One of the things I did like about the Blogger interface was that it helped you build a pretty interesting about you page. It asks a bunch of questions and then displays your answers…rather entlightening. So here are my tastes right this minute..

I am the publisher of freshare.net, a new citizen journalism site for the Ozarks.

As part of our site, we just launched a Google powered custom search engine exclusively for Ozarks blogs and citizen journalism related sites. I wanted to let you know that we have included Murdog.com in the search results. You can give the engine a test drive at our home page (www.freshare.net ).

We are being very selective as to which sites we include on the search engine and consider readership, frequency of updates, quality of content and quality of writing style, and we only include sites based here in the Ozarks. There are a few thousand blogs based in our area, but we think only about ten to fifteen percent will be included. Our custom engine works like any other Google search except that all the results come from the selected blogs.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. My address and phone number are listed below.

    Best regards,

    Bob Korpella
